The Blogging Tip Meme

I’m not that big on Memes (because most don’t fit into the theme of this site) but when I learned that Derek Semmler had tagged me with this one I was very excited because it was right inline with what SEO Ladder is all about (bloggers helping other bloggers)!   The purpose of this meme is to shed some light on some great blogging tips that other bloggers are sharing with the world.  So without further ado…

-Start Copy-
It’s very simple. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.)

Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers.

Try to make your tip general.

After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!

Just think - if 10 people start this, the 10 people pass it onto another 10 people, you have 100 links already!

Chris, thanks for adding your tip to the meme! It’s been interesting to see tips from many different types of bloggers.

@Derek - No problem. Thanks for tagging me in the first place! There are some great tips in this Meme. The only thing that I would have changed would of been to link to the tip from the list instead of just the blog.

I agree Chris, after I had posted my continuation of the meme I had thought the same thing and I think MsDanielle just did that.

BTW how do you tag someone? I read it at many blogs, I would love to know how to tag someone’s blog?

  7. on 02 Aug 2007 at 11:03 pm 7.Chris Gray said …

@NSpeaks - You typically tag someone by simply linking to them (from your Meme). The blogger may then notice that you have tagged them by viewing incoming links (via Technorati or some other stats program). It is also customary to follow up with an email to let them know that you have tagged them (as many bloggers don’t view stats regularly). I am new to this area so others may be able to chime in here if I got it wrong…

Thanks for clearning my doubt. Earlier I thought that they might be using some tool to tag each other.

I appreciate the link love. I’m not sure how far this meme has gone, and certainly I’m *way* behind on posting an additional blog tip with links out to these folks.

Hey Chris - Thanks. I’ve got some more links going out to this gang of bloggers soon…just trying to time it with other blog-related posts I’m writing.

Ah, the joys of writing in multiple niches at once (not necessarily something I recommend!)

@Ben - I feel your pain. I am currently trying to maintain four different blogs (all in different niches). As you can see, my post frequency has most definitely suffered. Wish there were more hours in the day :)

Looking forward to your round-up and I definitely will be stopping by!
