eCommerce SEO Project
I mentioned back in March that I am in the process of developing a new eCommerce website. This will be my second attempt at such an endeavor. Seeing as my first attempt never got off the ground, my business partner and I decided to scale back on the scope in hopes of a better outcome.
While I still am an eCommerce n00b I thought I would share some of my experiences along the way. I am planning a multi-part series where I will walk you through some of the steps I took to develop this eCommerce project. In this series I also plan to focus on some of the SEO aspects of eCommerce and elicit your help as I prepare to go live. Feedback from the more experienced shop owners / developers is very welcome and I encourage your pointers / criticism / insight.

Shops have a few inherent problems from an SEO standpoint
1. More images than content
2. No method of adding unique content
3. Poor sub page URLS
4. Duplicate content especially product descriptions
5. Poorly optimised shopping carts
I have developed many shops that perform well in search, that said its never easy
